In the Jane Finch neighbourhood of northwest Toronto, most families with children live under the poverty line. Parents trying to keep food on the table and a roof over the family’s heads often see school supplies as a luxury. In partnership with the community served by Jane Finch Community Ministry, this program supplies students from JK to high school with backpacks containing school supplies geared to their academic needs: everything from crayons to scientific calculators. The backpacks are distributed at the end of each summer for the beginning of the new school year. This program gives students a better chance at academic success, which will help improve the economic stability of individuals and the community.
Your Gift of $35 will provide a backpack filled with school supplies for one student.
